Rapid Db2 deployment with Docker and Kubernetes

The rise of Platform-as-a-Service has revolutionised application development and deployment. Applications s are composed, configured and orchestrated in a dynamic and agile manner. Databases, however, are still perceived as a traditional component lacking deployment or configuration flexibility.

 

In this presentation we’ll look at how Db2 instances can be deployed and destroyed on-demand, using Docker container technology.  We’ll also look at how Kubernetes can be used to orchestrate Db2 in a wider context to provide dynamic provisioning of entire applications.
