Java is not a new technology; Java has been introduced in late 90’s, Java Stored Procedures are available in Db2 for z/OS since version 7. With the recent hardware improvements and the business demands the use of this technology on mainframe is extending. This presentation will briefly review the Java programming concepts and will aim on its specifics concerning Db2 for z/OS.

IBM and TAS/Mantica have just simplified this effort. IBM has partnered with TAS/Mantica to bring together the power of their Adaptive Intelligence Platform and Fraud Protection Solution with IBM Watson Machine Learning for z/OS. This helps organizations monitor and detect payment fraud in real-time, before a transaction completes, with rel-time scoring via Watson ML for z/OS. This presentation describes how to apply this ML use case for real-time scoring to your payment process.

While IBM z/OS Management Facility (z/OSMF) is a core z/OS component since version 2.1, still not everybody is familiar what it is and how it would help with system and database management. In this session we will focus on how Db2 users could use z/OSMF workflows to simplify and automate some of common Db2 tasks. We will also cover what Zowe (mainframe open source project) has to offer for working with z/OSMF workflows.
