Data Fabric is a data management architecture to help you organize the various distributed data sources in your enterprise. It enables self-service access to data for building new applications and  enables data science across your enterprise. It does so by helping you to register discover data sources, learn about various properties of their data, points out sensitive information and allows to define data access or masking rules to manage confidentiality.
This talk explores the Data Fabric architecture briefly, but then quickly jumps into concrete implementation options using Db2 for z/OS as an example data source. We explore different data access methods like virtualization, caching and direct access and look at ways how to use and combine them in a small sample application
