U uvjetima sve većeg korištenja XML-a kao standarda za razmjenu podataka, veliku pažnju treba posvetiti procedurama za backup i recovery XML-a.

S obzirom na svoje specifičnosti, u prezentaciji je opisan način pohrane XML-a u DB2 za z/OS v10, način uzimanja sigurnosnih kopija i obnavljanja podataka, s naglaskom na potencijalne probleme i mogućnosti rješavanja, što ima veliku važnost s obzirom na raspoloživost poslovnih aplikacija.
