This presentation provides an overview of the DB2-based cloud services: dashDB, DB2 on Cloud, and SQLDB. We'll discuss the differences between hosted and managed services and explain the different capabilities, configurations, and features of the three DB2 services. 

We are about to release a brand new offering based off of the dashDB capabilities, which will allow for private cloud deployments of this analytic engine.  This is a great way to get the simplicity benefits of the cloud, but, keep keeping your data behind your firewall - or, host dashDB on different platforms.  In this presentation we will go through the details of exactly what BLU Helix is - and - how it can be a very powerful way of easily deploying complex environments as well as how it integrates with other data stores within your warehousing infrastructure.

This session discusses about how to integrate DB2 monitoring into industry standard open source IT infrastructure monitoring tools like Nagios. The techniques described can be applied to other tools, or to DB2 automation in general. Examples include exploitation of administrative routines and ADMIN_CMD procedure. This session focuses on DB2 LUW in Linux environments. 

This sessions provides recommendations for sizing hardware configurations for DB2 BLU and discusses how to tune BLU for best performance. These guidelines are based on experiences with DB2 BLU production deployments and extensive testing at the IBM labs. The presentation also includes detailed instructions for tuning and monitoring sort memory consumption, a particularly critical area for BLU performance

We have a significant set of new capabilities coming out in 2016 with BigInsights and in this session we will go through some of those highlights and details with particular focus on capabilities around Spark and BigSQL.  Even if you have chosen an alternate distribution for your open source platform, BigInsights is a great way to get access to some very high value assets which can drastically reduce application re-write as you look to deploy a Hadoop and/or Spark environment in your logical data warehouse.
