Db2 continues to evolve to be a multi-modal database that can serve a variety of data needs. As such there have been many features that have been introduced over the years to support performance and storage optimization in a cost-effective manner. This session will highlight a number of these features related to performance to show how Db2 has evolved to support various workloads.

In this session we’ll drill down on the details associated with our latest release near the end of 2023 called Db2 11.5.9.  This release of Db2 includes some great new high value capabilities including security enhancements, new containerization capabilities, HADR enhancements, pureScale enhancements and much more. Db2 11.5.9 is also the foundation for key cloud and warehouse solutions including Db2 Warehouse on Cloud Gen 3 and columnar enhancements.

AI is now the hot topic in the market - and - before any AI project can be successful data is front and centre.  In this session we'll take a look at some of the latest technologies influencing the world of AI - then take a look at where IBM is investing to address this market and help clients through their AI journey - and dive into what we are bringing to the table to address the first and arguably most important component of AI .... your data.  We will look at watsonx.data and how Db2 plays in this architecture as well as specific capabilities in Db2 which are addressing clients requirements around AI.
