Marcin Marczewski, DB2 Solutions Migration Consultant, is an IBM employee since 2005. He is a Team Leader of Information Management Technology Ecosystem team in CEE, which is a part of IBM Krakow Software Laboratory in Poland. He focuses on various conversion projects to DB2 database by supporting IBM customers and Business Partner in such projects (porting assessments, porting assistance). As part of his job he also delivers various DB2 trainings. He is an IBM certified DB2 9.7 LUW Advanced Database Administrator.

This session will explore how to use Db2 to enhance data exploration using built-in capabilities. Also Db2 with Python, and common tools such as Jupyter Notebooks and Pandas will be covered.
This session focuses on Db2 11.x, the newest version of Db2 for Linux, Unix and Windows. This presentation gives a technical overview of Db2 11.x, with an update on the strategic roadmap and a deeper diver into the first enhancements delivered in the new version.
Performance is a crucial thing for each database. Frequent health-checks are required in critical environments. During this presentation we will discuss db2mon – a tool (script) used for light-monitoring of your Db2 database. Step by step the tool would be run and results analyzed.
Db2 comes with a smart query optimizer which tries to execute every query with best access plan. How to tell the optimizer what to do? Which join method to use or at which optimization class run your queries for a specific session? During this presentation we will discuss how optimization profiles can be created and maintained. Optimization guidelines with examples will also be covered.
