Marko Štajcer, direktor Inovacija i razvoja u Poslovnoj Inteligenciji. Diplomirao je na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu na Fakultetu organizacije i informatike na smjeru Informacijski sustavi 2008. godine. Po završetku studija zapošljava se u Poslovnoj Inteligenciji gdje stječe iskustva u području sustava za skladištenje podataka, integracije podataka, poslovne inteligencije i analitike velikih podataka na brojnim domaćim i inozemnim projektima. 2015. godine preuzima ulogu direktora odjela Inovacija i ravoja u istoj tvrtci, gdje je odgovoran za istraživanje i uvođenje novih tehnologija te razvoj Big Data aplikacija. Također sudjeluje na složenim projektima podatkovne integracije i napredne analitike u ulozi arhitekta sustava, vodećeg konzultanta i voditelja projekta.

It is the process of creating new digital business processes and business models where data is being used as the fuel to give an organization a competitive advantage, allowing them to make better decisions and deliver a higher level of service to customers. Artificial intelligence is already a key driver of digital transformation across a wide range of sectors and with more data at our disposal than we have ever known, and more effective technologies allowing us to make sense of it all, we can start to deliver better experiences for the modern consumer’s needs. In order for these to evolve, new structures and technologies are needed. Overall a new approach is what is more important, by having customer´s needs as priority.

SQLAdria Seminar – Opatija 2016 Modernization of Data Warehouse using IBM PDA, Hadoop and Fluid Query technology

In recent years, in the era of Big Data, Data Warehouse architectures (EDW - Enterprise Data Warehouse) evolve towards Logical Data Warehouses (LDW), which are becoming the new standard architecture for data management and data analytics. In these architectures Hadoop is used for evaluation and processing of new data sources, which can then be loaded into the Data Warehouse or combined with the data that is already there. IBM Fluid Query technology allows access to data from various sources such as Hadoop or Spark and combines them with data located in the Data Warehouse on IBM PDA device.

In order to achieve full potential of Big Data, system architecture in enterprise environments should be able to support different data analysis in lab environment and production of data in the factory environment for specific projects or products.In order to make the transition from the lab to the factory environment as easy as possible, it is essential to implement the appropriate technology and  data management standards.



SQL Adria is the independent, non-profit organization that gathers relational database users for Croatia and Slovenia. It was founded 1994. and in the same year it has become the regional user group.
