The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) was first developed in the late 1980s and has become the de facto standard for IT Service Management and the delivery of IT services to the business.
There is a growing awareness of this standard among IT organizaions many of whom are now adopting the practices defined by ITIL and as a result are looking for tools to support their adoption of ITIL processes. There is also a growing interest around the world in the adoption of the best practices defined by ITIL for Service Management.
This presentation will outline basic ITIL processes and present how DB2 solutions can support those ITIL practices. In some cases the solutions directly assist in the implementation of the processes defined by ITIL, in other cases the solutions provide the support that staff following the ITIL processes would use to make the process more efficient and effective.
