Db2 V11.5.8 is the latest release of Db2 and in this session we will do a deep dive on the high value new capabilities which were in this release.  This release has content which is value to on-premises and cloud deployments as well clients running OLTP/Operational workloads as well as OLAP/Warehousing workloads.

Now that we are about to wind down Db2 V11.5 and focus on Db2 Vnext – lets take a look at the key capabilities of Db2 V11.5 from Beginning to end – starting with the support of RHOS in our first 3 point releases through to the key capabilities in performance, pureScale, logging, NoSQL and much more which were delivered in the various Db2 V11.5 mod paks.

The database market continues to evolve at breakneck speeds, with cloud databases now forming a majority of the overall market. As Db2 continues to run the world’s mission critical workloads, we continue to evolve the product roadmap to service our customers no matter where they choose to run their applications or database workloads. This talk will cover recent advancements we’ve made to the Db2 family of products. And we’ll cover our long-term product strategy and roadmap – covering both transactional and analytics workloads And, we’ll touch on the latest innovations from the lab – particularly our third generation Db2 Warehouse and new data lake offerings.

DevOps is a topic that can touches many different areas of the IT processes related to development, implementation and management of applications. The benefits of applying established DevOps techniques are well known by now. Yet, implementing them can be overwhelming. Where to start? What to do next? What will give me "the biggest bang for my kuna Euro…". In this seminar we will discuss several different areas of the lifecycle of  Db2 for z/OS application. We will have focus on Schema and Application build, various types of testing and deployment.

SQL is a very powerful language. To support it the Db2 optimizer has many ways to get to the data and combine partial results into the final result set. even though many tools are available to visualize the access path Db2 plans to execute, the output can be complex to understand. Breaking it down to the basic elements and understanding the way data is accessed by those elements will enable less experienced developers and DBA's to find performance problems quickly.
