Bio

Joshua Kim is the Program Director for Big Data and Analytics portfolio at IBM Data and AI. With years of experience with IBM in product management for Data Warehousing, Db2 and Netezza, he is passionate about data management, and enjoys engaging with clients directly to help solve their challenges. Joshua loves reading up on new and emerging technologies, and how to apply them to the IBM technology stack.

Db2 continues to run the world’s mission critical workloads. It is the indispensable database that powers a significant majority of the Fortune 500 companies where downtime is associated with significant monetary and reputational risk. This talk will cover recent advancements we’ve made to the Db2 family of products. And we’ll cover our long-term product strategy and roadmap for the business – covering both OLTP and OLAP. During this talk, we’re also going to cover the concept of an analytics lakehouse and how that applies to the Db2 portfolio. Lakehouses are a hot topic in the Data Management space today. But, what are they? How can they help you and your users’ productivity? How can they help you lower your costs? We’ll explore.
