Bio
Ute has been a Software Engineer at the IBM Research and Development Laboratory in Boeblingen, Germany for 25 years, where she works in various software development projects and roles. Most of her projects were based on DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, and now also on DB2 for z/OS. Since 2013 she works as a member of the Analytics on IBM z Systems™ Center of Excellence team, part of the DB2 Analytics Accelerator development organization, focusing on DB2 Analytics Accelerator proofs-of-concepts, customer deployment support, and education.
She has co-authored various IBM Redbook publications, focusing on DB2 LUW performance management and DB2 Analytics Accelerator topics.

The DB2 Analytics Accelerator continues to evolve to support new and innovative use cases. DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS on Cloud, Version 1.1 will deliver high-speed analysis of enterprise data while capitalizing on cloud agility, flexibility and ease of deployment. The Accelerator Version 6.1 will offer an integrated on-premise and cloud solution that can turn DB2 for z/OS into a hybrid cloud database management system capable of handling both transactional and analytical workloads and to scale them independently. In this session we give a technical overview of DB2 Analytics Accelerator V6 and DB2 Analytics Accelerator on Cloud V1.1 and cover architecture, capabilities and deployment options

In this session we review the capabilities of DB2 Analytics Accelerator on a technical level such as query acceleration, HPSS, Accelerator-only tables, Netezza Analytics stored procedures and loading data via DB2 Analytics Accelerator Loader. In addition we dig into usage scenarios benefitting from the various capabilities. We will cover usage examples for in-database transformation, in-database analytics and more. We will also cover the new support of R functions introduced with DB2 Analytics Accelerator V6
