Kacper works at IMB as a Db2 support engineer since March, specialises in Availability. On last SQLAdria presented new Db2 cluster manager: Pacemaker. Recently graduated from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków in the field of Automatics Control and Robotics. Loves sailing in the Adriatic.

The presentation covers a practical analysis of various issues occurring in Db2 specific to the HADR architecture.
Few cases with different problems will be troubleshooted, using various tools. Starting from gathering diagnostics, through analysing logs and data, finding the root cause, to repairing the environment.
The presentation also includes the discussion how to avoid such cases in the future.

In recent years, a need for a new high-availability cluster resource manager software has emerged. The reasons were the willingness to migrate to the cloud, the need for better flexibility and the need for a single solution for all OSes and architectures. As a result the Pacemaker is being integrated with DB2 as a new feature for high-availability solutions.
The presentation describes, among others, the architecture, process flow and tools of the cluster software. Moreover, You will learn how to apply the Pacemaker, what are the prerequisites and what are the main changes comparing to previous solutions. The second part of the presentation is a hands-on laboratory showing how to use the software.
